Independent Advocate
Colette joined Sandwell Advocacy as an Independent Advocate on the PAGE Project in April 2026. The PAGE (Parents Advocacy Guidance and Empowerment) Project provides independent advocacy support to parents with learning disabilities and/or autism who are involved with Sandwell Children’s Trust. The project helps parents understand complex processes, know their rights, participate in decision-making, and ensure their voices are heard throughout their journey.
With over 30 years of professional experience, Colette brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. She has spent the last 15 years in the voluntary sector, working as both an Advocate and Volunteer Co-ordinator, helping people understand their rights, access services, and make informed choices. Prior to this, she spent 14 years in public service, including Children’s Services, where she developed a strong understanding of the statutory processes that support children and families.
Colette’s extensive experience across both public and voluntary sectors enables her to provide compassionate, person-centred advocacy that empowers parents, builds confidence, and promotes positive outcomes for families. Her commitment to protecting rights and amplifying the voices of those she supports strongly aligns with the values of Sandwell Advocacy and the aims of the PAGE Project.

As a Parent Advocate within the PAGE Project, Colette provides independent one-to-one advocacy support to parents with learning disabilities and/or autism, helping them understand Children’s Trust involvement and processes, exercise their rights, access appropriate support, and achieve better outcomes for themselves and their families.
