National Volunteers’ week this year was celebrated during the 1st to the 7th June 2026 and Sandwell Advocacy held our own celebration event on Tuesday 2nd June 2026 at Sandwell Valley Visitor’s Centre. This was to celebrate the incredible contribution that our volunteers make, not only to Sandwell Advocacy but also to local residents who benefit from our telephone befriending service.
The event was a great success with an afternoon of celebration, conversation, food and music, rounded off with a quiz centred around volunteering and Black Country history.
Sandwell Advocacy staff, CEO and Trustees were in attendance to thank and celebrate our dedicated volunteers, alongside Kim Fuller – Growing Participation and Volunteering Mentor – SCVO, who gave a wider context to volunteering in Sandwell.
