Between November 2025 and January 2026, Sandwell Advocacy carried out a review of the Independent Advocacy Support for Children and Young People, gathering feedback from 20 service users to assess service quality and impact.
Key findings
- Satisfaction: 100% of respondents reported being satisfied or very satisfied with the service
- Communication: All families rated communication as excellent or very good
- Being listened to: Nearly all respondents said they always felt heard and understood
- Helpfulness: The service was consistently rated as very or extremely helpful
Impact of the service
- Improved confidence and emotional wellbeing
- Better communication at home
- Increased engagement with schools
- Reduced anxiety
- Greater ability for children to express their views

Overall outcome
The findings demonstrate that the advocacy service is highly effective, trusted, and valued by families. All respondents said they would recommend the service and would use it again. Delivery was consistently described as professional, caring, and reliable. No concerns were raised regarding service quality. The only areas identified for further development relate to increasing capacity and awareness in response to growing demand.
