We are excited to share that we have now trained four telephone befrienders to support the Sandwell Together Telephone Befriending Service, following our recent March 2026 training session.
Throughout the detailed course, trainees were invited to learn about topics including: The origins of Sandwell Advocacy and the Sandwell Together Telephone Befriending Service, What is a telephone befriender? Boundaries and the various case scenarios that can happen and what to do in these various scenarios, Safeguarding issues, Privacy, GDPR, Consent, Confidentiality and Sandwell Advocacy’s commitment to the volunteers, plus many other other informative topics.
The training session was a great success and we look forward to working with our new volunteers in going forward.
